About Us

For over 20 years, Renovation Resources, Inc. has helped people create living environments that inspire their life.  As a residential design and construction company we put a strong emphasis on understanding the ideas, motivations and influences of the people we serve prior to offering any of our own proposals.  The design solutions we create are carefully crafted and evolve through a series of refined presentations.  The final design becomes the culmination of explored options, feedback, revisions and balance across all governing factors.

Home building and remodeling projects are built twice.  The first time on paper through drawings, 3D renderings, samples and most importantly, collaboration.  Through the use of computer animation, web based management systems and creative reviews and discussions, the construction phase of our projects commence with confidence that all goals will be attained.

Our examples of successful projects were never the result of strictly our own efforts.  Each included a committed team consisting of talented designers and architects, skilled technicians, knowledgeable suppliers, artisans and of course the support and confidence of a client willing to embark on a journey of imagination, discovery and transformation.

The owner and founder of Renovation Resources, Inc. is Frank Koronkiewicz.  Mr. Koronkiewicz graduated in 1980 from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a bachelors degree in Architecture.  After working for 7 years with 2 prominent Chicago commercial interior design firms as a technical coordinator and project manager, Frank entered the residential construction field by getting “thrown into the fire”.  He was hired as a construction field superintendent by a development group that was in the early phases of renovating a 12 story apartment building on East Lake Shore Drive in downtown Chicago into luxury Condominiums.  The project included many unique challenges.  The first floor and lower level was converted to a new 2 level parking garage with car elevator.  The building had qualified for landmark status and was required to meet many strict guidelines, including restoration of the main lobby with fresco ceiling murals and restoration of the intricate mosaic tile floor.  Terra-cotta balcony and cornice reconstructions, historically accurate window replacement on the front facade, retrofitting modern elevators and electronics, shutting down half of a city block in the middle of the night for water and power upgrades were a few of the challenges not typically encountered on a residential construction project.  Many new condo owners including well known celebrities hired their own architects to design their new home in the building while some worked directly with the development group.  Mr. Koronkiewicz was involved in virtually all the field operations beginning with the base building requirements to buildout of each individual unit.  Through contacts established on the project, Mr. Koronkiewicz had forged many new relationships that helped him start Renovation Resources, Inc. in 1990.  His first 2 projects were for the developers he worked for including a private residence in Water Tower Place.

Today, Renovation Resources, Inc. continues to serve its clientelle with personal attention, a focus on detail and a respect for the budget.
